Linda Carmel was born and raised in England where she worked as a teacher. For eight years Linda lived in religious communities in England, India and America where she came to understand that every action taken is an opportunity for meditation and every action done with total awareness is a work of art. Linda's paintings are a way for her to synthesize this understanding into the world in which she lives.
Linda now lives in Chapel Hill with her family. She took classes at the ArtsCenter (Carrboro, NC) with Jane Filer and others. She is a member of the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts where she exhibits her art. In addition to the Orange County Artists Guild Linda is a member of the Durham Art Guild, The Visual Art Exchange (Raleigh) and a docent at the Ackland Art Museum and the HAND Gallery at the Duke Eye Center. Linda's art has been exhibited in many juried, group and solo shows in the Triangle area.
