Susan has worked with clay for over 35 years and has an MFA in ceramics from LSU. Having grown up in Chapel Hill, Susan has since lived in many places, working as a studio artist, teacher, and arts professional. She helped run Coleman Clay in Nevada and created ClayWorks Studio and Gallery, a cooperative studio in Charleston,SC. For 6 years, Susan served as President of the National Council for the Ceramic Arts and now works as founding Board member for the FRANK gallery in downtown Chapel Hill. Susan exhibits in many national, as well as international exhibitions, and she has taught at craft schools such as Penland and Arrowmont.
