Nature has a process from which it doesn’t stray. It lives, it unfolds, it creates. Even a single blade of grass is connected to the larger whole. I aim to emulate that same connection in my work: my process is calm, methodical, and intentional. Every piece is designed not just for beauty, but for function and comfort: handles designed to feel like an extension of the hand, the weight of the clay body dispersed evenly, signaling balance.
The aesthetics I use are inspired by the same earth the clay comes from. While all my work is a functional form thrown on the pottery wheel, I use multiple techniques to create the imagery. Some of these techniques are familiar favorites of mine, some aren’t: I explore and experiment with my projects, always seeking a deeper connection with the materials. In this way, I strive to share the nourishment I feel and the connections I forge with all those who use, appreciate, or embrace my work. As are those blades of grass in the field, we are all important pieces of a larger whole.
