I make whimsical, nature-themed jewelry from hand-painted enamel, sculpted glass beads, and traditional metalwork. The natural world has always been my primary source of inspiration. A renewed interest in botanical illustration and print-making has been pivotal in the development of my current enameling style. I carry a sketchbook on woodland walks with my dog to record my inspirations for new designs.
I focus on making jewelry because I enjoy the benefits of working on a small scale. Small pieces afford me more opportunity for experimentation. I can also make reasonably priced art for everyday use. It is really gratifying to see someone wearing a piece of jewelry I created.
My studio is in Hillsborough, NC. You may contact me at (919) 923-2162. I sell my enamel jewelry at shows and in my Etsy shop, luckiepenny.
