I was born in 1960, in Ohio. I spent the next 22 years there and then moved to North Carolina to pursue a graduate degree in English Lit at UNC. I decided I didn’t want to teach college English, so I bailed on grad school and spent the next 30+ years raising a couple of kids, substitute teaching, working retail, and taking drawing classes at the Carrboro Artscenter to save my sanity.
In 2016 I started painting and realized that I’d been an artist my whole life. I paint landscapes and “dreamscapes”... but perhaps they should be called “lightscapes” because that’s my delight: rendering light with acrylic paint or watercolor. I joined the OCAG in 2018.
