Hollie has lived in Chapel Hill since 1963 and enjoyed being a part of the varied and interesting triangle art community for years. She got her undergraduate BFA degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and MFA in Printmaking at UGA. She has been an exhibiting member of Orange County Artists Guild since 2002 and is a member of Triangle Visual Artists.
Hollie’s main interest is expressing her visual ideas through the right medium. This belief has taken her to ceramics, mixed media painting on traditional and ceramic surfaces, digital collage printed on metal, and recently in Protest Pearls jewelry. Protest Pearls jewelry showcases archival images of trailblazing women in updated freshwater pearl or chain necklaces, to remind women of their collective power.
